About TGC

With the world as its market, The Gurin Company is one of the premier independent producers and distributors of reality television, focusing on studio game shows, light entertainment, live events and docu-reality.

Despite its proximity to Hollywood, The Gurin Company is just as likely to produce a pilot or series in Europe or Asia. In addition to its own original development program, the company seeks out and licenses formats and franchises for production and distribution. And, while The Gurin Company is one of the few independent production companies to consistently place series on all four major U.S. broadcast networks, the company also regularly partners with networks and format creators from around the world to produce shows for distribution overseas and domestically.

The ability to produce and sell programming around the world has enabled The Gurin Company to breathe new life into shows for the U.S. market. A prime example is The Singing Bee, which debuted on NBC in2007. The Singing Bee then went on to become an international hit, finding success in more than 26 markets around the world. The high-energy karaoke competition returned to the U.S. on CMT with a country-themed focus and a new host Melissa Peterman. The Chuck Woolery-hosted Lingo, which The Gurin Company developed internationally, followed a similar path to eventually become one of the Game Show Newtwork’s all-time hit shows, airing on the popular cable channel for six seasons.

The Gurin Company juggles a development and production slate that spans the globe. Multiple projects are currently in various stages of production with distribution commitments from top-tier international and domestic networks and production companies. The Gurin Company’s strong relationships with international networks and creators developed over the years have resulted in co-production and distribution agreements with Germany(Red 7 and ZDF); France(Coyote Productions, Adventureline Productions); UK (ITV, BBCWW, DRG); Japan (Fuji Television, Nippon) Netherlands(Creative Media, Eyeworks, Endemol); New Zealand(Touchdown) and Australia (Channel Nine) to name a few. The company currently has shows in production and development in more than 30 countries and across a dozen U.S. outlets.

One of the leaders in international format sales and acquisition, The Gurin Company includes among its U.S. success stories The Weakest Link, which became a hit for NBC, and Test the Nation on FOX.

One of a handful of companies to regularly produce live television, The Gurin Company has produced the live Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe pageants for seven seasons as well as Fox’s New Years Eve Live for three years. The company has also produced the prestigious non-televised Television Academy Honors for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for the past two years
